Films-UnDeR ThE BiG BaNnEr "PoRtRayIn' ThE ReAL InDiA"#1

Now after havin' seen the movie "Slumdog millionaire",I don' wanna give any review on this flick as the talk about this is all in the air.Man Oh man!!Its one heck of a feel- good-movie!!It simply rocks the tinsel town. With six golden globe awards and as an Oscar nominated movie it has been much hyped eva' since the first day of its release. But not all Indians cheer for the flick as they feel it is focussed too much on crime, organized beggin' rackets and prostitution under the big banner "portrayin' the 'true' INDIA".
The one scene of Jamal gleefully divin into the outdoor latrine to get the 'all the more important' autograph of Amitabh Bachchan is disgusting to the core and the scene has a sparked a debate over whether the movie is on the trial of portrayin the true India or is it yet another stereotypical foreign depiction of India accentuatin' corruption, crime, etc.
After all this is not the first time a movie of this sort is gettin' wide acclaims!!
"Phantom India" directed by Louis Malle a few years ago had already been in this list.
So this is the question that ought to be answered!

What ,exactly is, Slumdog millionaire?

a) a portriat of the 'real' India
b) a Bollywood style melodrama
c)a fairy tale
d) a stylish shot collection of cliches

It all depends on one's perspective!

And ya! leavin all the serious arguments now- while watchin' the movie as an ordinary one, I need to tell ya this- The hero Dev Patel is mind-blowin'.and do ya know that next he is gonna take up the film "Last Airbender" of "Sixth Sense" fame Night Shyamalan. Wish the duo an hearty "all the best".
